Old beach home and its septic system being replaced in Te Awanga

Old beach home and its septic system being replaced in Te Awanga

The structure and environmental context:

Te Awanga is going through somewhat of a renaissance so the old beach homes and their septic systems are gradually being replaced or upgraded to reflect today’s environmental requirements.

The original holiday home on this site has been demolished to make way for a new permanent residence that the homeowners have only just moved in.

The site is very restrictive... In order to show Phil and Evelyne what footprint the primary tank and BIOROCK's treatment unit would take up, I just laid some old cardboard down. Then I located the primary septic tank and BIOROCK at the front of the site and recycled the treated effluent to the rear; where it is used to provide subsurface irrigation to a small lawn area.

All in all: A great outcome with very happy clients.
