Another recent septic system and drainage upgrade were completed by BIOROCK NZ in Te Awanga Hawke's Bay.
Te Awanga is a coastal community in Hawke's Bay NZ. The soils are very stony and rapid draining, so the cumulative effect of untreated effluent from all of the old septic tanks is starting to have a real detrimental effect on the underlying groundwater.
To reverse this contamination the regulators require that any old septic tanks that have failed be replaced with modern secondary wastewater treatment plants.
